In Fall 2021 we released the Generation 3 WaterFeature8 system. The Gen3 added new functions such as battery backup, real time clock, microSD data storage, and a few minor quality-of-life items. We think the Gen 3 was a big step in the right direction, and we have a few more improvements to make before starting on the Generation 4.
In 2022 we manufactured 93 systems (shipped 69) which is more than DOUBLE our count of 42 produced in 2021 (shipped 20), which, in turn, was DOUBLE what we made in 2019 and 2020. Setting a new goal for 2023: we would like to manufacture 200 and ship at least 160 systems for our customers.
Are there still a few challenges? Yes, of course! Not least of all is that the chip shortage is still impacting the business. The Digital-to-Analog Converters (DAC) we use are still not available, and we are looking to do a redesign. Also, we purchase other components in piecemeal quantities when we see them show up at the online distributors which is less than ideal. While some things seem to be improving others seem to be in decline. Regardless, we optimistic about the next year!
